Artistic Skating - Entry Level

Service Description

Suitable for skaters aged 8 years to adults who have completed Learn to Skate Level 4, and who wish to progress to the athletic and creative discipline of artistic skating. Course structure: FREE SKATING Basic spins - two foot spin and beginning one foot spins Basic jumps - Waltz jump and Toe-Loop Forward footwork sequences on a baseline - edging, chasses, swings Forward and backward open mohawk turns Forward cross overs and back cross pulls (both directions) Body movements - low, mid and high space FIGURES The discipline of Figures involves executing precise forward and backward edges and turns on circles marked on the skating floor. The practise of Figures is widely regarded as invaluable to developing skaters' skill in other artistic disciplines such as free skating. COSTS: Lessons: Term fee $185 incl.GST (9 weekly lessons - Monday 10 February to Monday 7 April) Additionally, Twin City Skate Membership is MANDATORY for insurance purposes: $40 per 12 months from date of payment (please see instructions on 'Our Classes' page)
